Advertlets Domain Has Expired?

My goodness! That really make me think! Today, I had a course over at the IPG for a half day. Then, when I reached home around 4.30, I was too tired and I didn’t check the internet at all.. And tonight, I thought about checking my blog..

Suddenly, when the blog tried to load Adverlets Ads, the page was redirected to another page stating that the Advertlets.com domain had expired on 3rd January 2008. Are they real for business?

If it was somekind of personal sites, I wouldn’t think much why they can’t renew their subscription. But a company? That running online advertisement?

This certainly tarnish the image of them in my eyes. Especially after the cheque case last month. Luckily, I’ve already received my cash outs.. However, I haven’t cashed them. I should do it as soon as possible  Got what I meant?

And because of that - the redirection of this blog to another ‘expired domain’ services page - made my blog looked bad. Some of the visitors might thought that my domain has expired. The statistic dropped drastically today!

By now, I hate them  I’ve tore down their ads in this blog and would never put them back - At least for the next few years.. Huhu.. It doesn’t value very much that I would be willing to risk the image of myself.

More bloggers have blogged about this, read on:

P.S.: If your blog does the same thing - redirected to another page - go straight to your blog’s dashboard by adding /wp-admin after your URL. For example: http://www.yourblog.com/wp-admin .. Then tear down the ads in your blog’s theme. Things will be normal after that..

P.P.S.: Advertlets said that the problem are partially resolved. I don’t know how ‘partially’ would that be.

Apparently someone from advertlets support replied in someone’s blog yesterday 5 something pm that they’re on to it, and it will be back online “shortly”. But as of the time of writing this, it is still offline.

Since 3 Jan 2008?!?!

Ouch! I only went online today… sigh…

Will there be any compensation from Advertlets?

The agreement requires prior notice before removing the ad codes right? I had to remove the codes and in doing so, I violated the agreement. Will I be penalised?

2008-01-06 17:54:44

well, choose to removed for your visitor’s sake or want to follow them.

I doubt there will be any compensation.. They don’t even bother to email us the publisher..

Penalised? Huh.. See you in court

No wonder I can’t reach your page the other day.

I’m grateful that I do not have any deal with their company.

I feel sorry for you and other bloggers who was affected.

From the perspective of the Law of Attraction, they are receiving a great deal of energy from an army of angry bloggers.

From The Secret movie, if you anti a company, then pro it’s competitor. Otherwise, the company that you don’t like will get all the energy from you and become stronger.

So, in this case, maybe you can pro other companies such as adsense or nuffnang. :)

That’s just my thought.

I agree about the energy.. More people are talking about them in their blog.. More people are linking to their website.. And I am sure they are receiving more visitors..

I am moving to adsense.. But not drastically.. I started to put adsense code into those popular pages first..

You know what. They were lucky that there was no one out there, after realising advertlets.com had expired, renewed the domain name for their own use. The company that runs advertlets is damn lucky, so to speak.

If not, somebody else could have grabbed the domain name and tried to sell to the original owner at an inflated price.

I read in a book that it happened once to a famous accounting firm just because they forgot to renew their domain name. They had to to buy back at an “undisclosed” figure. Well, you know what undisclosed means.

They said the problem lies with the domain company.. I don’t know how true was that..
