There Are No Seafoods At Tanjung Balau!
After playing with the animals at Mutiara Motor Resort, we were feeling hungry. It’s around 4 or 5 pm and we haven’t had our lunch yet. So, I remembered my friend’s story about nice and fresh seafood he had at Tanjung Balau. Excited to have fresh seafood for dinner, we head over to tanjung balau.
Tanjung Balau is quite small town. They have one fishermen village which I believe is a relocation area for them. Their original village might have been taken to build resorts. Though it is a fishermen town, to my dismay that there are no stalls or restaurant preparing seafoods. What a surprise?!
Anyway, they do have nice view. All beach views are nice, aren’t they?
Planning A Vacation II
After deciding where to go and how many days for vacation, it’s time to list down what are the things you wanna do in that particular place. In my case, it is Ipoh and surrounding town. Let’s see my list:
- Pasar Karat – Only on Sunday morning, somewhere in Ipoh town.
- Bukit Merah Lake Town Resort. Alternatively, we can just visit the Tambun Lost World – Is that right?
- Bukit Larut – also known as Maxwell Hill, situated 10kms from Taiping. They said that to get there we have to use 4×4 vehicle. Anyway, I am going to drive a Ford Ranger, so it must be possible. Or else, you can hire a land rover at the foot of the hills.
- Kellie’s Castle – Situated somewhere in Ipoh-Batu Gajah road. Must use sampan to get there.
- The royal town of Kuala Kangsar – 40kms north of Ipoh, three important buildings to see are Istana Kenangan, Iskandariah and Ubudiah Mosque.
- Taiping – the night zoo and the state museum
- Caving – there are many caves around Ipoh town, one of it is Gua Tempurung
- Tambun Hot Springs
- Malaysia’s first rubber tree in Kuala Kangsar
- Ipoh Cave temple like Sam Poh Tong
- Kuala Gula Bird Santuary – I am not sure where is this place, but will find more information about it..
- Perak’s Geological museum
Perak is also known for it’s delicious delicacies.
Zoo Taiping, Perak
Actually we didn’t included Zoo Taiping in our list of places to visit because we had visited the night safari. But after visiting the museum, which is very short visit, the only place we know to go is the zoo. Afterall we couldn’t see much at night, right? So, this is the time to watch that monkey and apes…
Muzium Taiping, Perak
When we checked out from the hotel that morning, there was a problem with the car. We had to send it to the workshop, thanks to Taiping Policemen who escort us to the workshop. I am sure that made the foremen worked on our car faster than ever. Well, we had to leave the car at the workshop for 2 hours, so we decided to walk around Taiping. The foremen dropped us at the museum.
Night Safari At Taiping
It’s night, and I’ve took the train to go around the zoo.. So, the pictures are not very clear.. Anyway, enjoy D-Va’s song, Cinta Boneka..
More Pictures From Perak
These are some of the pictures taken during my vacation in Perak.

Hotel Panorama, Taiping
If in Ipoh, we stay at the Grand View Hotel, in Taiping we get the Panoramic Hotel (Hotel Panorama)
. Unfortunately, unlike Grand View Hotel, Panoramic Hotel doesn’t stand to its name. It doesn’t offered us a beautiful panoramic view out of the room’s window. Thus, I don’t take any pictures from the room.
If I haven’t forget, the Panoramic Hotel rate is RM80/ night. Slightly cheaper than the Grand View Hotel, while it’s room is slightly bigger than Grand View Hotel. It has a coffee house and they served delicious great food. It’s full at all time. Not with the tourists, but I think the locals here. Most probably because the foods are great and it’s affordable.
Fun At The Lost World Of Tambun, Ipoh
Lost World of Tambun is not as big as Sunway Lagoon, but it has its own special characteristics such as beautiful surroundings and less visitors.. Less visitors might not be good for its owner, but for me it’s mean more privacy and I don’t have to long queue waiting to play that swing of choice. Anyway, I had fun here, and hey, the food is not bad too…

Planning A Vacation I
I believe everybody loves holiday, and they love to go on vacation. The problem is most of the time you know where to go but didn’t know what to do. Most people might just go to a certain place that they have wanted to go all their lives, then ask the hotel reception where is the best place to visit, what to eat, and what to do. When we did that usually we will lost a lots of time searching for something that we do not know. And we end up sitting at the hotel and walking along the shop-lots. That doesn’t sound fun, don’t you think so?
Recently, I was planning my vacation. I know I want to go on vacation, but I didn’t know where to go. There are many places in Malaysia that I haven’t got a chance to explore them. Luckily, I am very good at using the internet to find information. Since I did a lot of things to plan my vacation, I guess I will share with you guys, so you could do the same when you are going for vacation.
First, I made a list of places that I wanted to go. Among of it are Terengganu, Kelantan, Pulau Langkawi and Ipoh. I am focusing on Peninsular Malaysia. Then, I began to do a research on the internet on every places that I wanted to go. I tried to find out the interesting places, events and things to do at every places that on the list.
Secondly, I analyse the information and pick a location that will benefits me most. Guess what I choose? Yes, I choose to visit Ipoh and other interesting places in Perak. I’ve been to Ipoh twice but it’s a work trip, so I didn’t really get a chance to explore the place. I’ve saw on Destinasi Bajet – TV Program – about the place and the foods, and I think it worth a try.
Thirdly, I have to decide how many days I am going on vacation and what day to travel. Actually, I am going for a friend’s wedding on Saturday at Temerloh. So from there, I could go straight for vacation. Remember that you have to count the hours for traveling too..
To be continue in Part II…
Jalan-jalan @ Pasar Karat, Ipoh
As soon as we reach Ipoh, we start looking for Pasar Karat. I know about it through some sort of television program named Destinasi Bajet. It looks like a very interesting place for me. What we know is that Pasar Karat is in Ipoh town, but which road, I am not sure.. Anyway, we go round and round the town, and suddenly we saw the Pasar Karat.. And the best thing is the Pasar Karat is held right in front of the Grand View Hotel, where we supposed to stay.
So, we parked right into the hotel’s parking area, then checked in. Since we arrived too early than the check in time, they don’t have a cleaned room for us yet. What else to do? Explore the Pasar Karat.
I’ve created a video from the pictures taken at Pasar Karat. Enjoy!
